The Irish Dance Attraction. In this “Young Minds and Students of Today” post, Emma (15yrs) tells us why she thinks Irish dancing is fun. The dance involves strength and grace. The history of the dance is not clear. Some sources report that during the era(750-1060 AD) of the conquering Vikings many books from the 7th and 8th century were destroyed or lost. Books that could have shed light on the origins of this cultural dance. Today people express their reasons for learning the dance, whether it is by tradition or choice, all the way down to this 21st century people are still Irish dancing. See the Irish dance feature and then read Emma’s concise explanation of why she participates Irish dancing. Thank you Emma

Emma ‘s Thoughts
“I started doing Irish dancing when I was 3 years of age and have been doing it ever since. I come from an Irish background so its tradition. I love Irish dancing and it has become part of my life. I don’t just like participating because it’s fun and keeps me in shape, but I love to compete. Competing in dancing is an amazing experience, as everyone wants to win, but we are all so competitive. I attend dance classes 3-4 times a week and I do soft and heavy shoe. I can’t explain how important Irish dancing is to me, without it, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
