Art and Music Journey in The Mind

Art and Music Journey Since there is a time for learning, exercise, and work; there is also certainly a time for ( art and music ) play.

This article was originally posted on October 2019.

Art and Music Journey in The Mind

Playing for children often involves high energy of imagination and talking to one another.

Talk about high energy, how about the teenagers? What does your daily routine look like?
In schools around the world, do they still teach art and music courses?
It is expected that when you join a band you will learn music. However, there was a time in some elementary and middle schools you had a certain part of class room time to learn about the basic skills of playing a flute.
The same went for art.
It was not until high school you had to start picking specialized courses if you ever wanted to exercise your creative flow in that way during school hours.

The above is a conversational piece with a coffee shop vibe. As you know, conversations by their very nature are meant to be enjoyed. Conversations do not turn into arguments when there is the spirit of enjoying each other’s company.
Some of us have and will continue to enjoy our discussions over art, literature, and music.

Art and Music Journey

Did you know this about art?

There are three classical branches of Art

I hope these interesting facts will show you what is innately known. That the mind can imaginatively see art in everything and make it materialize literally overtime.
Observe the skills required to proficiently create the following branches of art on a professional or occupational level.

Paintings

Shown in office buildings, restaurants, and homes. The owners of these establishments are dressing up their walls to be inviting and warm to set the tone of the environment. The environment is just as important to understanding what the prospective and perceptive clients are looking for; as well as their personality input. For example, a farmer will probably pass over placing huge buildings to decorate the walls in his home. However, an entrepreneur with dreams of owning a building that size just might say “Exactly what I was looking for!” All the while, you will peak the farmer’s interest with people smiling, lakes, and camping scenes. Do you have such skills with a paint brush?

Sculptures

Are 3 dimensional carvings made into stone, wood, and casting metal. It takes a precision of accuracy and patience IMHO like no other in the arts. It is not an easy thing to recover from the mistakes made and can be quite costly. To this day, Michelangelo (see Sistine Chapel) , has to be one of the most renowned Italian sculptures of all time. Though he was commissioned by Pope Julius II to paint the Sistine Chapel, he made clear in history that he is a sculptor more than a painter. Imagine that? All the same, how did this man create all these stone gems to perfection? He possessed the skills of precision accuracy and patience. Do you have such skills?

Architecture

As referenced with the Sistine Chapel, the paintings on the ceiling walls, people travel from all over the world to see them; the architectural structure is no less aesthetically studied in history books from the renaissance period. Do you understand the art and engineering behind designing such buildings?

Then we have the animating performing arts! Often the ones who are not as skilled with stylus tools can find their place in music and theater. This is to make you aware everyone can find their place in exercising creativity. Have you experienced the joy of creating music or dance?

Speaking of Music

In part two of this article we will explore a couple of instruments and thoughts on music. It has been said more than once by this writer, music is one of life’s pleasures. Really, there are many you will tell you it makes life worth living through the good and tough times! Do you agree? I’m confident that the students visiting this website are in agreement with that last sentence.

So by all means please share this article on your social media accounts and with close friends.
I’m pleased you are enjoying the Product of Culture aka pocbooks.com website & podcast.

A Poem with the flavor of art

But first, you will also want to check out the product of culture artist pick website:

Seeing beauty at times takes a trained eye.
It is more than just looking up at the sky.
Some can take the easy way out by repeating what everyone has said before.
But in order to be original the ability to see beauty has to go beyond the surface of the door.
The face is just a shield.
What’s inside happens to be the true yield.
It often takes insight and training to see beyond such borders to not go along with the established order.
You don’t have to wait until you are older.
Young in age too can find beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Prince and the Pauper Profound Reading 3

Welcome to The Prince and the Pauper Profound Reading 3 Fundamental Reading

Here was Chapter 2. Enjoy chapter 3 of this series.
James’ Commentary Opening

Just how many roles do you carry out in a single day?

When I smell homemade cookies in your kitchen, my nose tells me you are a baker.

Children will tell another story of how you bandaged their scrapes and kissed their boo, boos as a doctor.

Friends and coworkers may relate what a brilliant scientist/mechanic you are by using ingenuity to fix appliances and cars.

Just think. You are able to carry out all these roles without wearing the uniform of a chef’s hat or lab coat.

The Prince and the Pauper Fundamental Reading

The Prince and Pauper

Author Mark Twain

Public Domain Literature (Published in 1881-82)

A story that has been told and written over the years about a prince. And a pauper; a very poor person.
Chapter 3 The Prince and the Pauper

Our repast is in the trees.

Another description for food dining is repast.

Tom got up hungry, and sauntered hungry away, but with his thoughts busy with the shadowy splendours of his night’s dreams. He wandered here and there in the city, hardly noticing where he was going, or what was happening around him. People jostled him, and some gave him rough speech; but it was all lost on the musing boy. By-and-by he found himself at Temple Bar, the farthest from home he had ever travelled in that direction. He stopped and considered a moment, then fell into his imaginings again, and passed on outside the walls of London. The Strand had ceased to be a country-road then, and regarded itself as a street, but by a strained construction; for, though there was a tolerably compact row of houses on one side of it, there were only some scattered great buildings on the other, these being palaces of rich nobles, with ample and beautiful grounds stretching to the river—grounds that are now closely packed with grim acres of brick and stone.

Tom discovered Charing Village presently, and rested himself at the beautiful cross built there by a bereaved king of earlier days; then idled down a quiet, lovely road, past the great cardinal’s stately palace, toward a far more mighty and majestic palace beyond—Westminster. Tom stared in glad wonder at the vast pile of masonry, the wide-spreading wings, the frowning bastions and turrets, the huge stone gateway, with its gilded bars and its magnificent array of colossal granite lions, and other the signs and symbols of English royalty. Was the desire of his soul to be satisfied at last? Here, indeed, was a king’s palace. Might he not hope to see a prince now—a prince of flesh and blood, if Heaven were willing?

At each side of the gilded gate stood a living statue—that is to say, an erect and stately and motionless man-at-arms, clad from head to heel in shining steel armour. At a respectful distance were many country folk, and people from the city, waiting for any chance glimpse of royalty that might offer. Splendid carriages, with splendid people in them and splendid servants outside, were arriving and departing by several other noble gateways that pierced the royal enclosure.

Poor little Tom, in his rags, approached, and was moving slowly and timidly past the sentinels, with a beating heart and a rising hope, when all at once he caught sight through the golden bars of a spectacle that almost made him shout for joy. Within was a comely boy, tanned and brown with sturdy outdoor sports and exercises, whose clothing was all of lovely silks and satins, shining with jewels; at his hip a little jewelled sword and dagger; dainty buskins on his feet, with red heels; and on his head a jaunty crimson cap, with drooping plumes fastened with a great sparkling gem. Several gorgeous gentlemen stood near—his servants, without a doubt. Oh! he was a prince—a prince, a living prince, a real prince—without the shadow of a question; and the prayer of the pauper-boy’s heart was answered at last.

Tom’s breath came quick and short with excitement, and his eyes grew big with wonder and delight. Everything gave way in his mind instantly to one desire: that was to get close to the prince, and have a good, devouring look at him. Before he knew what he was about, he had his face against the gate-bars. The next instant one of the soldiers snatched him rudely away, and sent him spinning among the gaping crowd of country gawks and London idlers. The soldier said,—

“Mind thy manners, thou young beggar!”

The crowd jeered and laughed; but the young prince sprang to the gate with his face flushed, and his eyes flashing with indignation, and cried out,—

“How dar’st thou use a poor lad like that? How dar’st thou use the King my father’s meanest subject so? Open the gates, and let him in!”

You should have seen that fickle crowd snatch off their hats then. You should have heard them cheer, and shout, “Long live the Prince of Wales!”

The soldiers presented arms with their halberds, opened the gates, and presented again as the little Prince of Poverty passed in, in his fluttering rags, to join hands with the Prince of Limitless Plenty.

Edward Tudor said—

“Thou lookest tired and hungry: thou’st been treated ill. Come with me.”

Half a dozen attendants sprang forward to—I don’t know what; interfere, no doubt. But they were waved aside with a right royal gesture, and they stopped stock still where they were, like so many statues. Edward took Tom to a rich apartment in the palace, which he called his cabinet. By his command a repast was brought such as Tom had never encountered before except in books. The prince, with princely delicacy and breeding, sent away the servants, so that his humble guest might not be embarrassed by their critical presence; then he sat near by, and asked questions while Tom ate.

“What is thy name, lad?”

“Tom Canty, an’ it please thee, sir.”

“‘Tis an odd one. Where dost live?”

“In the city, please thee, sir. Offal Court, out of Pudding Lane.”

“Offal Court! Truly ’tis another odd one. Hast parents?”

“Parents have I, sir, and a grand-dam likewise that is but indifferently precious to me, God forgive me if it be offence to say it—also twin sisters, Nan and Bet.”

“Then is thy grand-dam not over kind to thee, I take it?”

“Neither to any other is she, so please your worship. She hath a wicked heart, and worketh evil all her days.”

“Doth she mistreat thee?”

“There be times that she stayeth her hand, being asleep or overcome with drink; but when she hath her judgment clear again, she maketh it up to me with goodly beatings.”

A fierce look came into the little prince’s eyes, and he cried out—

“What! Beatings?”

“Oh, indeed, yes, please you, sir.”

“BEATINGS!—and thou so frail and little. Hark ye: before the night come, she shall hie her to the Tower. The King my father”—

“In sooth, you forget, sir, her low degree. The Tower is for the great alone.”

“True, indeed. I had not thought of that. I will consider of her punishment. Is thy father kind to thee?”

“Not more than Gammer Canty, sir.”

“Fathers be alike, mayhap. Mine hath not a doll’s temper. He smiteth with a heavy hand, yet spareth me: he spareth me not always with his tongue, though, sooth to say. How doth thy mother use thee?”

“She is good, sir, and giveth me neither sorrow nor pain of any sort. And Nan and Bet are like to her in this.”

“How old be these?”

“Fifteen, an’ it please you, sir.”

“The Lady Elizabeth, my sister, is fourteen, and the Lady Jane Grey, my cousin, is of mine own age, and comely and gracious withal; but my sister the Lady Mary, with her gloomy mien and—Look you: do thy sisters forbid their servants to smile, lest the sin destroy their souls?”

“They? Oh, dost think, sir, that THEY have servants?”

The little prince contemplated the little pauper gravely a moment, then said—

“And prithee, why not? Who helpeth them undress at night? Who attireth them when they rise?”

“None, sir. Would’st have them take off their garment, and sleep without—like the beasts?”

“Their garment! Have they but one?”

“Ah, good your worship, what would they do with more? Truly they have not two bodies each.”

“It is a quaint and marvellous thought! Thy pardon, I had not meant to laugh. But thy good Nan and thy Bet shall have raiment and lackeys enow, and that soon, too: my cofferer shall look to it. No, thank me not; ’tis nothing. Thou speakest well; thou hast an easy grace in it. Art learned?”

“I know not if I am or not, sir. The good priest that is called Father Andrew taught me, of his kindness, from his books.”

“Know’st thou the Latin?”

“But scantly, sir, I doubt.”

“Learn it, lad: ’tis hard only at first. The Greek is harder; but neither these nor any tongues else, I think, are hard to the Lady Elizabeth and my cousin. Thou should’st hear those damsels at it! But tell me of thy Offal Court. Hast thou a pleasant life there?”

“In truth, yes, so please you, sir, save when one is hungry. There be Punch-and-Judy shows, and monkeys—oh such antic creatures! and so bravely dressed!—and there be plays wherein they that play do shout and fight till all are slain, and ’tis so fine to see, and costeth but a farthing—albeit ’tis main hard to get the farthing, please your worship.”

“Tell me more.”

“We lads of Offal Court do strive against each other with the cudgel, like to the fashion of the ‘prentices, sometimes.”

The prince’s eyes flashed. Said he—

“Marry, that would not I mislike. Tell me more.”

“We strive in races, sir, to see who of us shall be fleetest.”

“That would I like also. Speak on.”

“In summer, sir, we wade and swim in the canals and in the river, and each doth duck his neighbour, and splatter him with water, and dive and shout and tumble and—”

“‘Twould be worth my father’s kingdom but to enjoy it once! Prithee go on.”

“We dance and sing about the Maypole in Cheapside; we play in the sand, each covering his neighbour up; and times we make mud pastry—oh the lovely mud, it hath not its like for delightfulness in all the world!—we do fairly wallow in the mud, sir, saving your worship’s presence.”

“Oh, prithee, say no more, ’tis glorious! If that I could but clothe me in raiment like to thine, and strip my feet, and revel in the mud once, just once, with none to rebuke me or forbid, meseemeth I could forego the crown!”

“And if that I could clothe me once, sweet sir, as thou art clad—just once—”

“Oho, would’st like it? Then so shall it be. Doff thy rags, and don these splendours, lad! It is a brief happiness, but will be not less keen for that. We will have it while we may, and change again before any come to molest.”

A few minutes later the little Prince of Wales was garlanded with Tom’s fluttering odds and ends, and the little Prince of Pauperdom was tricked out in the gaudy plumage of royalty. The two went and stood side by side before a great mirror, and lo, a miracle: there did not seem to have been any change made! They stared at each other, then at the glass, then at each other again. At last the puzzled princeling said—

“What dost thou make of this?”

“Ah, good your worship, require me not to answer. It is not meet that one of my degree should utter the thing.”

“Then will I utter it. Thou hast the same hair, the same eyes, the same voice and manner, the same form and stature, the same face and countenance that I bear. Fared we forth naked, there is none could say which was you, and which the Prince of Wales. And, now that I am clothed as thou wert clothed, it seemeth I should be able the more nearly to feel as thou didst when the brute soldier—Hark ye, is not this a bruise upon your hand?”

“Yes; but it is a slight thing, and your worship knoweth that the poor man-at-arms—”

“Peace! It was a shameful thing and a cruel!” cried the little prince, stamping his bare foot. “If the King—Stir not a step till I come again! It is a command!”

In a moment he had snatched up and put away an article of national importance that lay upon a table, and was out at the door and flying through the palace grounds in his bannered rags, with a hot face and glowing eyes. As soon as he reached the great gate, he seized the bars, and tried to shake them, shouting—

“Open! Unbar the gates!”

The soldier that had maltreated Tom obeyed promptly; and as the prince burst through the portal, half-smothered with royal wrath, the soldier fetched him a sounding box on the ear that sent him whirling to the roadway, and said—

“Take that, thou beggar’s spawn, for what thou got’st me from his Highness!”

The crowd roared with laughter. The prince picked himself out of the mud, and made fiercely at the sentry, shouting—

“I am the Prince of Wales, my person is sacred; and thou shalt hang for laying thy hand upon me!”

The soldier brought his halberd to a present-arms and said mockingly—

“I salute your gracious Highness.” Then angrily—”Be off, thou crazy rubbish!”

Here the jeering crowd closed round the poor little prince, and hustled him far down the road, hooting him, and shouting—

“Way for his Royal Highness! Way for the Prince of Wales!”

Welcome Students in September 2019

G’day and welcome students in September; this will be another interesting month and year of reading with enjoyment of visual media.

Welcome Students

The summer here at the Product of Culture website had more maintenance and learning addition technical skills I did not expect in my plans; but we go with the flow the best we can in getting things fixed.

Summer concludes and Autumn Begins
On Monday, September 23, the start of fall will begin. How was your summer? Hopefully, you were able to take vacations or some well-deserved breaks at least.

School Attenders
Remember, a “mind is a terrible thing to waste.” All you young minds of today, it is my hope that you are successful in working through those tough arithmetic problems. Be sure to eat plenty of nuts and berries if such things are available to you.
The important thing to remember is your mind’s body works best when there is a steady flow of high energy nutrients. This does not mean caffeine, even though you know I love my coffee and tea.
Eating fruit and vegetables every few hours is beneficial for your brain, since you are wearing the thinking cap all day long.

What does this mean? Don’t you dare skip eating during lunch! Let me say this again; please don’t skip lunch.

Work hard to have a wonderful and successful school year!
Poem – A circle in a square

As we lay in our cribs,
What is this and what is that?

How do I make the sounds of mom and dad?

As we well past the toddler stage, why can’t I no longer suckle my baby bottle, it can’t be bad?

Stay away from this and stay away from that… Why? why? why? What is the catch?

The teen years go by like a blur, the facts and figures promotes us to say mom, dad, please not another question.

With another puzzled response, every family unit ask, are you sane? That line of reasoning makes me question in the same vein.

Oh come what may look how you have grown.

On graduation day you’ve grown this far, and my oh my you are shinning like a star.

Happenstance, you questioned your heritage, and the parents your sanity, but with the questions answered everything became clear

People long-lived say the only thing that is certain is change.

I say on this day in this frame, questions are a part of life and we should feel free to ask them.

My Dear, Answering questions shows respect and love; in which there is no fear.

Happy Graduation Day!

Welcome students in September

Why I Love Irish Dancing

This Article was repaired or refurbished on February 20, 2020. It was originally posted on August 25, 2012 Check the site archive.today for verification of pocbooks.com online presence.

The Irish Dance Attraction. In this “Young Minds and Students of Today” post, Emma (15yrs) tells us why she thinks Irish dancing is fun. The dance involves strength and grace. The history of the dance is not clear. Some sources report that during the era(750-1060 AD) of the conquering Vikings many books from the 7th and 8th century were destroyed or lost. Books that could have shed light on the origins of this cultural dance. Today people express their reasons for learning the dance, whether it is by tradition or choice, all the way down to this 21st century people are still Irish dancing. See the Irish dance feature and then read Emma’s concise explanation of why she participates Irish dancing. Thank you Emma

Irish Dance Competition Example
An Irish Dance Teenagers View

Emma ‘s Thoughts
“I started doing Irish dancing when I was 3 years of age and have been doing it ever since. I come from an Irish background so its tradition. I love Irish dancing and it has become part of my life. I don’t just like participating because it’s fun and keeps me in shape, but I love to compete. Competing in dancing is an amazing experience, as everyone wants to win, but we are all so competitive. I attend dance classes 3-4 times a week and I do soft and heavy shoe. I can’t explain how important Irish dancing is to me, without it, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
Emma

The Recap
Again, we can thank Emma for sharing her feelings about the Irish dance. As a recap, these are the points we can take away from the interview:
Irish dance involves strength and grace.
There are competitions
Irish dance can influence a young person’s outlook.

If you found this interesting, be sure to make someone’s day by telling them about this interview!

Star Trek a Gene Roddenberry Vision Part 2

Star Trek a Gene Roddenberry Vision Part 2

Star Trek points to a time when reason and communicated good thoughts have won over the opposing forces of the two.

This Article was repaired or refurbished on February 20, 2020. It was originally posted on April 11, 2019 Check the site archive.today for verification of pocbooks.com online presence.

As the Perceptive Readers e-mail subscribers here are aware, a couple of times a year, I write a longer blog article that could be placed in a personal journal (for the gentlemen) or diary (for the ladies).
Gene Roddenberry’s Writing Presents a Problem

Gene Roddenberry was a creative visionary. Would anyone disagree with that statement?
In his original 1965 Star Trek pilot introduction, he explained how the networks were in love with westerns. You will find this to be an accurate observation from the sixties. Just talk to an aunt or uncle. Oh I forgot, you may need to talk with Grandma and Grandpa. So even though the networks were looking for westerns, Mr. Roddenberry gave them so much more!
Still, here is the question. Did the networks appreciate the unique gift to the world of entertainment, which would also be migrated to books?
Everyone can get the answer here:

“The Cage” – Star Trek Original Pilot – Gene Roddenberry Intro!
VIDEO

Gene Roddenberry’s Writing Shows “We Get It”

After viewing the documentary pilot for Star Trek, you were able to hear with your own ears Mr. Roddenberry point out the following concerns the show’s effect would be on the society at that time.

No smoking characters
A crew alien member designed to look like audiences perception of the devil
Women in command roles with high IQs
Mixed skin colors (White, Black, Asian, etc ) working together and in romance

Are you one in the frame of mind as feeling, “The networks concerns were based on ignorance and fear”?

All the same, what did Gene Roddenberry report about the letters he received in feedback on the show?

What is our observable outcome?

First Season 29 Episodes 1966 -1967

Second Season 26 Episodes 1967- 1968

Third Season 24 Episodes 1968- 1969

Star Trek Original Seasons

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) Director Robert Wise
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) Director Nicholas Meyer
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) Director Leonard Nimoy
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) Director William Shatner
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) Director Nicholas Meyer

Star Trek Original Movies

Is There One in Your Life or in You?

Is there a Gene Roddenberry in you? Or what about one of his characters in the original series?

Personalities who get the sense of this, a respect for others, get it; when it comes to Star Trek. And no, this does not mean our idiosyncrasies do not cause conflicts with others at times.

But, when you sit back and think about what is happening, whether it be by some internal or external strife, your reasoning ability can identify the problem.

Take the problems that have occurred with different tribes and caste systems, if you will? Or; two individuals who do not see eye to eye.

What has happened even with good friends who were closer than brothers when they did not find where the hurtful problem was residing and how to ethically resolve it?

Ah, what was going through Gene’s mind when he created Day of the Dove?
https://youtu.be/_v698nFlAVw

Wow! Could you resolve a problem like the one above? Some of you authors have written similar scenarios in your books; we just know it. A character that reasons on what is right and also brave enough to do it. Which saves the day!

We could go on, but let’s close with this thought. Gene Roddenberry wrote with this future view. No smoking, piracy, prejudice, or religion. And yet, his themes went into references from the Good Book in more than one episode. Imagine that.

I’m aware of even some readers here have not given consideration to the role of religion; Which I’m not going to dive into here. Again, Imagine this.

Imagine asking a King who walks past you for an opportunity to speak with him and to learn from him. The King likes your smile and sincerity. He points to one of his trusted aids and says, “This person knows what makes me happy. He will tell you and even give you exercises, if you will, to help keep you healthy and strong as my subject and NOW friend.” You look at the King with a smile. The King then says, “Call me when you need me or just to talk.”

Such an encounter and words have come about in an illustrative sense due to these words taught by a famous prophet that sincere people exercise in a regular routine and innate desire: (The Good Book:Matthew 22:36-40)

Where would we be without such elevated thoughts?

Would Gene Rodenberry’s original series have been as successful without them?

Lecrae Featuring Tori Kelly Performs I’ll Find You – St. Jude Campaign
How do you say it? “This music by Lecrae – I’ll Find You ft. Tori Kelly, and now the music video got me feeling some kind of way.”
Life, at this present time, is an accumulation of experiences that involves good and bad. We don’t have to go searching for or create adverse events in life; such things come about all on their own. At times there is more than the average struggle to keep conquering such negative things with the good.
One excerpt from poetry goes like this:
L. I. F. E. spells life.It is filled with ups and downsHighs and Lows. Some make it while shouting I did it!While others struggle from one hour to the next. There is hurt. There is pain.Watching a person experience the depths of mental (and physical) trauma is heart-wrenching.The gentlest of people can at times react abruptly by the experience…
Lecrae Featuring Tori Kelly Performs I’ll Find You
– St. Jude Campaign – Cancer is Abruptly Painful
Cancer can cause pain by growing into or destroying tissue near the cancer. Cancer pain can come from the primary cancer itself — where the cancer started — or from other areas in the body where the cancer has spread (metastases). As a tumor grows, it may put pressure on nerves, bones or organs, causing pain.
– ‘Care That Helps Them To Be Strong!’
Some make it while shouting I did it! Yes, it has been told more times than anyone knows that they needed to get their affairs in order because their life span has been drastically cut short. When we have intimate conversations with the ones diagnosed, they relate (with tears) only several weeks to less than six months. However, due to attentive doctors, nurses, research, family, friends, and a positive; yes even a high spirituality outlook, they are still with us years later!
Oh, the jokes they still share with us. The stories… The art… The comfort they give in return with the measure of recovering strength they now possess. Do you have a child? How blessed you are as your child benefits from a heart full of love and tenderness!
The video “I’ll Find You” by Lecrae & Tori Kelly reminds all of us to value life and our loved ones. But you know something else it hopes we will consider?
That gentle persons will also remember the medical advancements that have been made due to your generous donations. Generous being what YOU donate from the HEART.

Tori Kelly Living in Music
Everybody’s looking for that new thing.” – Tori Kelly (Nobody Love)Even the strong need a hug sometimes.Love is often viewed as complicated. Is it? – (Product of Culture)
Tori Kelly’s life in music prompts me to think about the good people do in the world from another unique perspective. It also causes me to meditate on what is behind their smile? Hence the sincere statements made above have come about by viewing excerpts from Tori Kelly’s life and by listening to her music.
Take Tori Kelly’s surprise visit on Laurie Hernandez, Olympics Gold Medal winner for the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team. The initial moment of the two meeting is what you call priceless! The intensity of emotions required no verbal expressions of love; it is quite evident in the video how Laurie Hernandez felt when her eyes fixated on Tori’s bright smile. Additionally, Tori welcomed the opportunity to verbally relate her mutual gratitude of being able to embrace Laurie.

What happened to Us?
One of the saddest things to experience in the world is to see the love in a relationship die. Especially when it did not have to happen. People around the world are having their hearts broken every day. Why? Did these couples know before hand what was going wrong in their relationship?  What exactly was causing the corrosion? In the beginning, oh how they were madly in love; and now they are just mad.
For many, when the loaded words stop flying, and the dust settles, then the sanity returns. The bitter waters of their heart start to turn sweet again. Still, from time to time there may be some residual memories of what was and what could have been? Where did we go wrong? Where did I go wrong? No matter what the situation may have been, while some burn the memorabilia of the no going back relationship, their heart produces a song to sing one last time for this lost love.

Colors of The Wind-With love – Growth, Knowledge, Progress
“Colors of the Wind” was originally recorded by Judy Kuhn as Pocahontas in the same titled movie. Vanessa Williams also released the covered single from the soundtrack in March  1995.
Tori Kelly recorded the song in 2014 which continued the tradition of keeping the meaningful adoration with the words of this song. How we feel about our raised from childhood values does principally motivates our actions. How do you view people of little-known cultures? How do you treat them? How do you view animals? How do you treat animals?
The song “Colors of the Wind” requests us to think deeply about such questions. From infancy, when humans are allowed to be taught, yes grasp what is love, they realize it is simple to appreciate and show it in union with all the Colors of the Wind vibrance, and it is the most powerful force of creation in all realms of the universe.

Tori Kelly’s music is a gift. It is obvious she cherishes and enjoys sharing it with others. Music comes from the heart. A heart that is full of love continues to be refreshed and when not placed in a dam; its refreshing overflow gives to all.
In conclusion, there is continued success wished upon Tori and all you kind/tender-hearted ones. Hoping for positive things and peace to always be with you.
“I’ve stopped being sorry for all my soft. I won’t apologize because I miss you, or because I said it, or because I text you first, or again. I think everyone spends too much time trying to close themselves off. I don’t want to be cool or indifferent, I want to be honest.” – Azra.T

Intriguing Poetry and Professionals

MIND ACTIVE

She Walks With Confidence

She walks with confidence and no man has to wonder why

She radiates beauty and intuitive women grasp the natural appeal

Children flock to her presence because they know she has her own

The confidence does not mean her days are without trials that produce the sad emotion of making her cry

The beauty is charged by being more than skin deep where the heart says I want to know God’s Will

The presence of her is a nurturer because she was nurtured The man and children who possess her are happy to say she is bone of my bone

Who is this person of all these things? It is Mom

Songstress, Musician, and Entrepreneur

Shakira is known on the world’s stage for being a singer, songwriter, dance choreographer, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and entrepreneur. She founded the Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos Foundation) with this mission: “The Barefoot Foundation works to ensure that every Colombian child can exercise their right to a quality education. Our model targets displaced and vulnerable communities by addressing their unique needs.”

Shakira is a phenomenal entertainer! Her songwriting ability and singing is also impressive. When it comes to Shakira, this writer loves to joke; no red-blooded man can say her name once when she is performing publicly or on the television screen, except me… This is why some writers may cover their mouth to speak the second Shakira under the breath. Wait a minute; this is supposed to be a non-fiction book, please excuse my dry humor. It is probably just best to exclaim, SHAKIRA, SHAKIRA with no shame, and say “That’s right, she is like my daughter, or sister, or cousin.” Though young men from their twenties on up probably won’t believe your explanation.

Did I digress again?

In all seriousness, there are qualities Shakira shares with us on the world stage that shows she is capable of carrying on a conversation with just about anybody, and we have not even talked about all the languages she speaks. This chapter is to give you a view of Shakira from an English speaking/writer person’s perspective.

Introduction to this Commentary on Shakira the Woman.

Often, when a person makes it in the “big time” as they say, then it is not highlighted or forgotten, such persons still have a common ground with humanity. The treatment of such persons at times can even be mean-spirited. To ignore that these are still people who laugh, cry, live life, and love their families, as they may also like you if you give them a chance, is something merciful people never do on purpose.

Starting Point A) Shakira Shares her Motherly and Scientific thoughts for little Children.

Shakira Shares her Motherly and Scientific thoughts for little Children.

Shakira is known on the world’s stage for being a singer, songwriter, dance choreographer, and entrepreneur. She has been recognized with esteem by her musician peers. Shakira’s love and desire to help financially poor children moved her to bring a dream of hers into reality. She saw children living in poverty missing out on receiving a quality education. When the opportunity materialized through hard work, she founded the Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos Foundation) with this mission:

“The Barefoot Foundation works to ensure that every Colombian child can exercise their right to a quality education. Our model targets displaced and vulnerable communities by addressing their unique needs.”

Presently there are five schools across Colombia that provide education and meals for several thousand children.

Shakira is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

For this article, we are highlighting the side that few get to see. It is understandable because it involves her children and family. Family time is family time.

By Shakira sharing her thoughts on what children need and her experience in the article, “What motherhood taught me about a child’s developing brain,” it reveals another facet of this (Said with all due respect), passionate woman.

Hence, let’s view some of the statements from this mom. Like moms around the world raising their children with love and insight, she possesses a concern to know about how her child’s mind/brain is growing, so to speak.

Specific Thoughts From the article Shakira: What motherhood taught me about a child’s developing brain | World Economic Forum

Here are the expressions Shakira made from this linked article.

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/01/shakira-mother-child-development-education Specific Thoughts From the article Shakira: What motherhood taught me about a child’s developing brain | World Economic Forum

Points A, B, and C are considered in the next heading as to the effect of this article on one writer’s personal feelings on this subject of a child’s developing brain.

A) Millions of children spend their earliest moments starved of the protection and play they need.

B) Advances in neuroscience teach us that parents and caregivers, health care and early learning professionals, governments and societies can shape the brain structure of every child for the better by enriching and protecting their environment, from the moment they are conceived until they reach five years old.

C) Being a mother of two children who are currently in the midst of their peak brain-development periods, I definitely feel the weight of this immense opportunity and responsibility, which I’m sure is true for many parents and caregivers across the world. As I look at my children, I ask myself — am I doing everything I can to help their brains grow strong? Am I giving them enough love, protection, and nutrition for optimal development? Are my actions positively contributing to their experiences and ultimately their cognitive, social and emotional development? I believe I am, and I am fortunate enough to be in a position to give them these critical elements of early childhood development.

Personal Feelings and Observations

My feelings were stirred for probably the same reasons yours were in reading the whole article.

Shakira: What motherhood taught me about a child’s developing brain

A child is meek, trusting, and vulnerable by design in the early stages of life. When a baby needs something that child is not going to “be tough; you will hear about it. And the strong, yet tenderly affection parent is able to exercise the feelings of endearment and protection for the child’s welfare. If the children are our future, as one songwriter states, then parents go to great lengths to safeguard this precious future. The child is a gift.

When I see the motherly side of Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll express concern for all children, you know this is another common ground that shows the human race is interconnected.

When Shakira asked, “Are my actions positively contributing to their experiences and ultimately their cognitive, social and emotional development?”

Then when she answered, “I believe I am, and I am fortunate enough to be in a position to give them these critical elements of early childhood development.”

It caused my mind to recall a few things about Shakira as to her present child-nurturing environment. Shakira has and continues to work hard for her children to have the nourishment needed to grow up with thinking ability. And her love of humanity desire is for many others to be in the frame of mind where they also feel, “I believe I am” helping my children to grow up bright and strong. — I will relate thinking ability once more.

Yes, my mind referenced additional items I read about Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll.

*Shakira has shown a real go-get-’em personality all her life. When she has a passion for something, then she takes the time to learn what is needed and gives it her best go at it.

*Shakira speaks five languages. Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, and Italian.

Would you say Shakira has benefited from receiving the required nutrients to develop her brain?

Observation

2.a Children need the proper nutrition daily.

2.b Children need to feel loved and secure. There should be no doubt in their little hearts and brains the parents or caregivers are doing the best for them, as in the best way they are able to do it.

2.c If you will, a child needs daily nutrition or nourishment in these following areas: physical, emotional, and spiritual.

It all works together to develop the brain. Even as adults, we continue to take in the nourishment in these three areas. Parents pass on thoughts or education to their children.

In some lands, as Shakira observed, some parents are unable to pass on the basic nutrition needed for their developing children no matter how much they want it to be so. Hence, in a personal way and a mother’s tender affections for children, she has done what she could to help.

Shakira Articles Volume Topic B) Comme moi-Black M and Shakira Collaboration

Before sharing information on Black M’s bio, I have to relate something about Shakira, Shakira! Yes, when experiencing a brief fanboy moment you may reflexively say the name twice as a response. -As you readers know, I don’t have fanboy moments.

Now, where was I (Putting back on the professor’s voice mode)? Ah yes, Shakira put on a dance routine that shows why I say IMHO she is one of the best Hispanic dancers in the world. And Shakira’s singing this song, Comme moi, in English is on point. Would you agree?

Due to Black M residing overseas, I knew nothing about him or his music. Here is some information that gives the audience more insight into this talented rapper’s culture and background. You can also see why Shakira enjoyed collaborating with him. And what a display of this man’s singing and dancing prowess we received!

Alpha Diallo aka Black M.’s Culture

“Alpha Diallo better known by his stage name Black Mesrimes or more commonly Black M (born 27 December 1984), is a French rapper and singer-songwriter of Guinean descent. He grew up in the 7th and 13th arrondissements of Paris. He is famous for his membership in the French rap and hip-hop collective Sexion d’Assaut in addition to his solo work and collaborations with various artists…In 2006, he had a joint released Bakry & Black Mesrimes presente Le Pact. In 2013, he released “Ailleurs” as an early release from his solo album titled Les yeux plus gros que le monde that followed in 2014, becoming his first official studio album.” — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_M

Shakira Articles Volume Topic C) Prince Royce and Shakira in their hit duet DEJA VU

What do you get when you match these components in the art of music?

  • Intelligence/Experience In Writing and Video
  • The Exquisiteness Of Voice And Song
  • Hearts Of Fire
  • Bachata Dance

The answer is a collaboration with Prince Royce and Shakira in their hit duet “Deja vu.”

Shakira is (IMHO) one of the best dancers in the world of the Hispanic culture. But you can ascertain that she is also a quick learner in other forms of the dance culture globally.

Prince Royce, this crooner, whose voice is like silk. In Deja vu, his smooth tone and Shakira’s reserved coloratura range tells a story of two lovers who have moved on (healed) from their past relationship, but are drawn back to one another while considering it is to their detriment. The music video makes me think about a time when the two met in the beginning stages. It was chemistry; there were openness and vulnerability.

Still, even though that time plays in their mind, neither can forget the pain that cut deep scars into their hearts, which they experienced time and time again; like Deja Vu. Will they fall back into the same routine?

Now the flipside of analyzing this video and looking at the ending, it could also mean that both of them have gone through this ordeal with their last love, but now in this new environment, they have found one another and ready to start a new adventure. — These are just my thoughts; you may experience the song and official video in a different way.

Feel free to let me know your take on the Deja Vu video in the comments.

Enough of my thoughts, I would now like to share with you the silky smooth song and dance presentation of Prince Royce & Shakira — Deja vu (Official Video)

Shakira Articles Volume Topic C) The El Dorado meaning for Shakira

The excerpt is taken from “Shakira Finds Liberation, One Song at a Time” by Jon Pareles

It’s an album sung mostly in Spanish, Shakira’s original language — though she is now fluent in English — and it’s full of love songs carried by tropical rhythms. The album is named after a mythical golden city sought in the Americas by Europeans. “Finding inspiration itself and realizing it had always been there all along — that was my El Dorado,” she said. “That was a perfect state of mind.” — Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll

Topic G) Product of Culture Shakira and Maluma. Latin Musicians Special Edition

A Writer’s Thoughts

Shakira. You will find after reading the Shakira and Maluma article, by Billboard’s Contributor Rebecca Schiller, why music lovers cannot say the performing facet of Shakira’s name in a low tone or even once. E.g., Shakira, Shakira!

Maluma is really, to use an appropriate idiom, in the same boat. At concerts, his name could officially be said and spelled as Maluma!! Just ask the women, and some of the men, who have attended his performances.

Rebecca Schiller talks about these personalities appealing qualities in not only physical attraction but also their views on soccer, family, along with the importance of green juice and being prudent.

This writer has recognized for sometime Shakira is a woman of intelligence and depth.

I’ve also referenced in times past the benefits of reading. When it comes to news today, especially on people in the spotlight, you may agree with this one reference here:

Analytical thinking is not only essential but let’s emphasis necessary today.

There is an abundance of information around today. How does a person decipher whether the data presented to them should be ignored negative slander, stored away, or acted upon?

Reading helps us to not judge a book by its cover.

Reading has helped many to hold the perspective that “where there is a question, there is also an answer.” Analytical thinking facilitates a person’s power to recognize if the answer is factual, or not; if the answer is practical, or not.

Reading books bestows upon an individual confidence that he or she has made a good decision on a subject.

The interview setting that Shakira and Maluma have enjoyed is in a relaxed environment. Though both these personalities are no strangers to speaking in public with bright lights shining on every word out of their mouths; according to many writer’s tastes, a catered environment like the one in the article is more conducive for the inner person of the one being interviewed to express themselves. What makes the person being interviewed feel comfortable? What would make you feel comfortable in a conversation like this one?

Just one more thought the owner of this website feels moved to share with you before I share one paragraph insert from the Shakira and Maluma article and the video with the English subtitle.

As mentioned to the Perceptive Readers, Shakira is someone featured at this Product of Culture website several times throughout the year. People have heard the owner of this website talk about Shakira’s writing and language speaking skills that would make her an excellent secretary. Well by reading the chosen insert below, it helped me to appreciate that I can no longer in my mind’s beautiful world of possibilities call her a secretary; I may just have to call her Reina Secretary instead. (Chuckle)

The owner of this website has a tendency to view her as a Princess; he stands corrected. There’s no shame in my game (Cultural idiom). See how reading helps us to get the facts straight? (Chuckle 2 times)

This excerpt originally appeared in the April 21 issue of Billboard.

Maluma, what do you do to make her so happy?

Shakira: First of all, he calls me reina [queen] all the time. Reina here, reina there.

Maluma: [Laughs.] That’s the truth.

Shakira: When he called me reina the first time, I said, “We’re off to a good start.”

Maluma: I’ve always said that there’s one thing that differentiates us Colombians on a global scale: berraquera [loosely translated: grit, or guts]. Even if we’re not great musicians, we find the people who know how to make the songs great.

Shakira: When a Colombian gets obsessed with something, watch out. Our history and the social factors we’ve been submitted to have turned us into resourceful people who had to survive and find their way in life.

Have you encountered barriers in the industry as Latin artists?

Shakira: The path to success has been longer, steeper, with more obstacles than if I had been born in Florida or New York City. To be born in Barranquilla and start a career at a time when the pop music scene was almost nonexistent in Colombia … When I began with my ballads and my rock songs, it was a very hostile environment. And there was no social media back then. I had to travel the entire length of Latin America to make my music known in the beginning, going from radio station to radio station. Sometimes we were in three countries in the same day.” — Billboard.com

Shakira Articles Volume Topic H) The Zootophia Movie Memories

Zootopia Movie Memories was originally posted in the Year March 2016 as “The World of Zootopia”

It is my pleasure to share this article once again during the Shakira El Dorado World Tour! See the Shakira 2018 in El Dorado Play list.

Zootopia “This film is about diversity; about avoiding prejudice; about the value of true friendship. And friendship with yourself- Having the will, commitment, and determination to accomplish your dream.” Shakira (Cast as Gazelle)

Views and Observations

You will be entertained in ways that are considered fresh for the Disney movie Zootopia. The consensus for many who watched the film is positive.

Before you ask if I was standing outside the movie theater asking survey questions as people came out, the answer is “no.”

After watching the movie, I interviewed people who sat in my vicinity.

Note: They probably were wondering why I was writing in the dark, even during the hilarious scenes in the movie!

Professor’s voice: As an adult, I watched the cartoon, I mean the animated movie, for professional reasons; of course.

The purpose of this review will not give away spoilers; however, the first five to eight minutes of the movie catches the attention by presenting the premise for the motives throughout the animated film. You see and understand Judy Hopps’ heart.

Bullying often has long-range effects on a person. In this movie, one of the takeaways is to still stand up not just for yourself, but for your friends. — You must use thinking ability and have the courage to do this.

In being aware of her surroundings throughout the movie, you see Judy Hopps use brain power, in a manner of speaking, to more than compensate for what some teased as her smaller stature.

Can we talk? The directors/technical animation crew implemented effects at times that made you feel the same height as the characters. The environment made You feel like you were looking up at giants. Then at other times, the perception senses had you looking down at the smaller creatures driving by you.

The youngin side of you may say, “Wheee!”

While the older side could remind you, “I’m here for the children.”

Nevermind you borrowed the neighbor’s children in order to attend the cartoon, I mean animation movie with your head held high!

(Chuckle)

No, in all seriousness, this movie addressed social issues of the day in a way that while the children are being entertained, the adults will say:

“I get where you are going with this.”

Opening Weekend Gross — Zootopia Movie Memories

The opening weekend gross for Zootopia is over 73 million dollars. This is a new opening weekend gross record for Disney’s animated films.

Challenges in the World of Zootopia

At this point, there must be untold numbers of comments and reviews on this Disney blockbuster opening weekend movie.

So is there anything I can share with you that you have not already heard without giving away spoilers?

The story’s narrative (as in the trailers) involves Judy Hopps (Bunny cop) and Nick Wilde (Fox) efforts to solve a crime which unexpectedly exposes them to something bigger that will affect the world.

Since animation can use anthropomorphic type characters, it allows Disney to address live social and cultural situations in ways that attract and keep a child’s attention.

This movie also covers challenges people face today in getting along with one another. You will experience just how fragile relationships can be when words are blown out of proportion or context. — Words really do mean something. Use them wisely to give the desired perception.

In the world of Zootopia, you see everyday situations you may have poked fun at yourself . Since the DMV scene is in the trailer, I will also highlight these points. The children will laugh, but some of the adults will rattle their popcorn containers by hysterical laughter. You know how slow some of these lines can be in specific departments. Be prepared, in Zootopia, you have the sloths running these departments. — Need I say more?

Hear real Zootopia movie theater laughter from the audience. SEE VIDEO

From predators to prey; from characters who hustle others to moments of direct honesty; this world of Zootopia shows these characteristics in different ways. — The audience noticed the efforts.

Interview with a three-year-old — Zootopia Movie Memories

Me: What did you like most about the movie Zootopia?

Three-year-old: The bunny

Me: Is there anything else you want to say?

Three-year-old: Looks at the mother.

Interview with the Mother of the three-year-old

Interviewer: What did you like most about the movie Zootopia?

The Mother: It was a cute movie. It resonates with me because (pointing to the three-year-old) her dad is a cop. I see what he goes through and know how he feels about matters.

Interviewer: Is there anything you didn’t like about the movie or would change? You don’t have to answer this question. (NOTE: I sometimes provide options to not answer questions so the person will not feel the need that they have to overly critique.)

The Mother: “No, like I said, it had me with the bunny being a cop. And my daughter liked it.”

Interview with an Adult Male

Interviewer: What did you like most about the movie Zootopia?

Male (23): It is a cute movie with a good message.

Interviewer: Is there anything you didn’t like about the movie or would change? You don’t have to answer this question.

Male (23): Honestly, I can’t think of anything. I never saw a Disney movie like this.

Interview with a lady (Careful not to ask age in some cases.)

Interviewer: What did you like most about the movie Zootopia?

The lady: It is a cute movie.

Interviewer: Is there anything you didn’t like about the movie or would change? You don’t have to answer this question.

The lady: (Nodding head from left to right) I can’t think of anything. It is interesting.

The World of Zootopia and Your Choice

This movie will make you laugh and feel other emotions. The cerebral content moves you to ask:

“How often do people stand up for one another of different backgrounds and cultures?”

And

“How is the oppression (bullying) affecting people to different degrees?”

Yes, though light-hearted jokes were made at the beginning of this article, this animated movie’s message is not directed just at children but also adults.

This article now concludes with what is shown through the motive and actions throughout the movie.

See Try Everything (Official video song by Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll)

* Be mindful of the movie ratings and their meaning. Your conscience and decisions are your own. These are my observations in viewing Zootopia as an author and professional.
