We can begin this topic, Giving a Grade on Culture, with a reference to the conversation you may have engaged before. What is it?
Well, Dictionary.com lists the following of culture:
- That which is excellent in the arts, manners, etc.
- A particular form or stage of civilization…
- Development or improvement of the mind by education or training.
- The behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group: the youth culture…
The definition of culture encompasses a lot. So over the years, in order to personalize it for the individual, I explain “It is who you are today and why?” Some will agree “It also affects the steering of where one is headed.”
When you can consciously make an honest assessment of your likes, dislikes, and background you will come to well thought out conclusions on society’s culture.
Let’s break culture down into these categories:
We will also use a grading scale that has been viable for years in identifying areas that are strong or needs improvement.
Grading Scale on Culture
A = Excellent (95 – 100 %)
B = Good (88 – 94 % )
C = – (80 – 87 %)
D = Needs Improvement (75- 79 %)
F = Devolve/Failing (0 – 74 % )
You can use anyone or a combination of the scale’s attributes to express your feelings on the culture (1-5) of Society today.
These are your thoughts; yes, your feelings. Still, we keep in mind the importance of respect and professionalism when expressing views.
