A Time to Keep, A Time to Open
Necessary Secrets Protect Intellectual Property and Businesses.
Some of the following statements come from the Product of Culture website article:
Transparency Business and Personal—What You Know and Share
What is transparency in business? The businessdictionary.com states of transparency, “Lack of hidden agendas and conditions, accompanied by the availability of full information required for collaboration, cooperation, and collective decision making.”
What is the purpose of this article Transparency Business and Personal–What You Know and What You Share?
This post was written to provide more information on a message posted in the POCbooks Twitter community. K-12 students of today are hearing more about this subject of transparency; however, many in Social Media marketing and business can also find some value in this.
Have you seen these words before?
‘Businesses often provide financial reports, quarterly statements and additional information to stockholders to show them why they can have confidence in the company and to verify their status. In other words, they are saying, “We are fulfilling our obligations to you in an upright manner that we hope will inspire confidence in our company or organization further.’
Transparency of Business, not of Personal information
You see, transparency’s purpose, at least for the most part in business, is to show a company or organization is honest/upright, which serves to protect the entity and or persons involved in an agreement or contract. Let’s explore this further. For example, what if you and another business/entrepreneur want to open a widgets company together? You both bring financial statements and field experience to the table. Lawyers may be involved in some cases. During the coffee break (had to throw that in), you may even talk about a few personal things happening with little Kiera or Tony. After some hours, everything is hashed out. A successful meeting!
Now when the lawyer leaves, does he or she immediately goes out into the streets and tells everybody what was said at the meeting with strangers? Why? You can most likely think of quite a few reasons why not.
CULTURE: There is a statement some parents have told their children to say when (nosy) neighbors would ask about personal family matters that they had no true intentions of helping the situation.
The child: “Mom said, it is a family matter, and it’s no one else’s business… Mom said if they really want to know tell them to come and talk to me.”
You see, in observation, the line (boundaries) in some circles is becoming blurred on what areas of business and life warrant transparency. In general, everyone does not need to know everything, even in businesses. You do your research on intellectual property (music, songs, articles, patents) that has been stolen in the past. In addition to boastful ones who were robbed because people found out they had a certain amount of funds located in this area or that area. How did they find out? Humor response Because the person had maybe a few more drinks than he or she should have and was telling people how much and where.
Transparency Business with Safety Measurements
Public – Strangers can access. Just how transparent do you need to be?
Confidential – Businesses Company owners and directors set the levels. The goal is to provide transparency on a need to know basis for the required implementation of services, but to also factor in the protection of the company and employees from corporate espionage.
Secret –Best Friends –What you tell a faithful friend. Another form of need to know based on the parties involved. Transparency between you and loyal friends are natural and important due to the common bond of true friendship. Would anyone blur the lines of transparency here by sharing a friend’s personal/business secrets with others?

Secretes, One Republic, And Facing West Conclusion
Yes, Facing West’s music and choice of songs caused me to give more than the usual consideration of secrets. Why? Because there is a time for private matters as the above article covers, and there is a time for openness. In the One Republic song of secrets, the singer felt that all the wrong types of secrets caused a lack of genuineness in the person/people who should have been the closest to him; at least this is my take on it. Hence, he decided to tell all his secrets at least (hopefully to a genuine and willing listener) to produce the air of openness in the friendship or relationship in hopes of making it a pure gold one.
Caitlin and Sidney New Music
Did you enjoy the Messed up Masterpiece song and music video?
Well, Caitlin and Sidney have more original tunes. Music to touch heartstrings with people possessing years of experience in the craft and life. Maybe you are one who has stated after hearing a Facing West song, “Yes, I’ve seen it” or “I went through that.”
You will notice the uptempo style at times they use to match the fervor and determination it takes to make through the trials (storms and droughts) of life. It is their hope we all come out of such experiences with our respect for self and others still intact.
Facing West sings country, pop, with a mixture of their own personalized genre to perform in small to large venues.
Be sure to check out their new music.
