Advice and Opinion

It feels good when a person knows and trusts you enough that your advice is valuable.  How do you determine whether you can trust someone or not? Is it from the feedback of his/her friends or do you take the time to know the potential friend yourself?
Underestimating someone can cause a person to miss out on something good. Inasmuch, placing a person’s reliability too high a level that they cannot live up to also bring disappointments.
