Different Strokes for Different Folks

Different people like different things. Different people live in different ways. One statement goes:

My neighbor spends all his free time working in his garden. I would never want to do that, but different strokes for different folks.

Makes for interesting interactions at times, does it not? The list can go on and on. The word diversity is often used to ensure people respect each other’s skinDifferentFolkes color. The word culture is also used in the same line of thought during classroom sessions. All the same, here is something else to think further on the subject of diversity. An individual can be born and raised in the same culture and yet be eccentric to the point where people just do not accept the individual. Creative and as some people may jokingly call them, “dreamers”; not surprisingly, their personality has a degree of eccentricity. Or could this just be society singling such ones out. That’s right, you Vincent Van Gog(s) out there, you know you are a little peculiar with the way your room and canvas has to be set up. It really gets your creative imagination flowing. Take away your favorite paint brush tools and look out!

If this is working for you, keep your tools.

What about you? Since people have free will to decide personal matters on how to be productive and create an environment that works for them, why interfere with it?

Still, some people have their different reasons why they do interfere. Too, since you are reading this post, I like to think that the readers here are not ones who would busy body in others’ personal affairs, or at the very least want to concentrate on oneself by treating people how they want to be treated.

You have not heard me say this in a while, but always remember, everyone has something positive they can develop. Being overly focused on what a human is doing can at times turn to a form of celebrity worship or envy. If someone envies a gift, social status, skin color, or possessions WOE,WOE for such thinking!  Such an envious attack by an individual  can cause the receiver of the attacks to make statements like this one:

What am I in the eyes of most people — a nonentity, an eccentric, or an unpleasant person — somebody who has no position in society and will never have; in short, the lowest of the low. All right, then — even if that were absolutely true, then I should one day like to show by my work what such an eccentric, such a nobody, has in his heart. That is my ambition, based less on resentment than on love in spite of everything, based more on a feeling of serenity than on passion.

- Vincent Van Gogh (letter to Theo, July 1882)

Observe today how much people value Vincent Van Gogh’s work. Yet, in life, his trials/imperfections became too much to bear.

It takes different strokes for different folks you know. You may be in one area where most accepts you or vice versa; then you move to another area and you may become the eccentric one or vice versa. We should always keep in mind that life takes adjustments. Just never give up and always look for the best way in dealing with others. That person might just be the one to make you a “masterpiece” in gratitude for appreciating hers or his eccentric nature.

You can gleam a look into my writing process by reading the answers to these 4 specific questions:

1) What am I working on?

As you can see, I’m working on guest blogging. Getting the word out, you know. Over the years, the journal section of this website has gone through a transition of short blurbs, to detailed reports. It is hoped you will continue to find the reports interesting… Read on to question 2.

2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

The Pocbooks’ slogan created in 2010 says it all.

“Home of the Product of Culture Book Series.

‘Fictional Books of Another Kind.’

And Why? If what you read motivates you to make changes in your life…

It becomes your reality!’

You can appreciate the language used in the book is expressive; colorful as I say, but no profanity. And the books are designed to do more than entertain, they are intended to engage the thought processes of the reader to such a degree that at times your appreciation of storytelling, music, facts, and poetry will all be addressed throughout the trilogy. You will discover deeper meaning to the statements made in the books.

3) Why do I write what I do?

I will answer this question with a popular poem I wrote back in 2010 aptly called, “Reasons for Writing”

You ask a child why do you write?

The child says I have to practice my alphabet to get it right.

You ask a teenager why do you write?

They may respond I have a thesis paper that my teacher has added to my plight.

Oh, but ask an adult what is on your mind?

They will break out in song and poetry over time.

‘You write because the blank screen or page is there.’

‘You write to someone to let them know you care.’

‘You write due to all the creative capacity residing in thee.’

‘Yes, you write to set such intellectual aspirations free.’

With the above poem in mind, “I write what I do”, is due to my daily routine of reading and my desire to express what I see in a way of helping all people. Read on to point number 4 and you will see what I mean.

4) How does your writing process work?

Oh, don’t you ever ask my wife about my writing process, she may say it starts before Mr. Rooster awakens in the morning. It really doesn’t. Okay, initially it started at that time, but not anymore.

On a regular basis, and it is just the way my mind works, I will awaken around 5 to 6 in the morning. I get a cup of coffee and read a portion of the Holy Bible for the day. During the process, I open (here comes a shout out) Scrivener and jot down thoughts, events, and observations. Just because I often write these thoughts down, does not necessarily mean they will ever be published. There are subjects I’ve written about over the years that in the beginning of a rough/raw draft I wrote it in, and if read by others, some particular preferences would have loved what was written, while other types would have burned the books and web pages if they could. So there are writings and stories never published in my journal.

Hence, with the above example in mind, my writing process begins in the morning or night with a cup of coffee. As I jot down thoughts, research, observations, and helpful tidbits in my journal; I wait until a story or blog post formulates in my mind. Even though we all want to put passion, or as some will say fire in our stories, my desire for the reader is to leave the writings/stories with feelings of hope. Even if all the silver linings are about to be torn down in the story’s plot, there is still hope! This is how I decide whether the many colorful things I write about will appear in a book, blog, or another website. Granted, you can’t please everyone, but you can at least try to prepare your writings like a palatable meal.

Research of Utmost Importance

People have questions and you deserve answers. Really, you do not have to travel thousands of miles to some remote mountain in order to receive an obscure answer about life. Accurate answers can be right at your fingertips via computer, kindle, or smart phone!  Questions like these can be truthfully answered.

1) Who go to heaven and why?

2) Who will live forever on the earth and why?

For many people, when they receive these answers they are able to move on to further thought provoking questions like these:

3) In a difficult and violent world, why did Jesus still tell his followers to be in word and actions messengers of peace?

4) A lot of religions claim to be the true followers of Christ, are they? And who is this “Faithful and Discreet Slave” Jesus talked about in Matthew 24:45?

In order to understand what the Holy Scriptures say, it is important not to let what others have said negatively about the Holy Bible deter you from finding the Truth for yourself. See Video.

It is a pleasure to announce with you there is now a new “Researched help” section on this website! All researched books are free for download in several languages.

English | Hausa | Hindi | Polish

Tagalog | Thai

In closing, research matters for yourself. You realize knowledge of this nature should not be ignored. Why, because God is not ignoring you. Let me say this again. God is not ignoring YOU. He is displaying mercy and love to mankind. Do you need a Holy Bible (ebook)? Do you want to know “What the Bible Really Teach?” Get the digital books right now for you and your loved ones.

At times, no matter how serious this report may sound to you, keep in mind positive results can come about for being informed.

Ecclesiastes Tells it like it is

Ecclesiastes is written by the same wise man who wrote the book of Proverbs, King Solomon. Note background information.

Ecclesiastes contains practical advice on what is truly worthwhile in life and what is valueless. Since Solomon refers to some of the building projects he had undertaken, he must have written Ecclesiastes after their completion and before his deflection from true worship. (Nehemiah 13:26) That places the time of writing before 1000 B.C.E., toward the end of Solomon’s 40-year reign.” -w06 11/1 p. Highlights From the Book of Ecclesiastes

Are you looking forward to finding out what this book teaches all who read it? Even though we will only talk about several scriptures here today, the few that are chosen addresses how many of you feel about things you experience in life. Yes, the social networks like Twitter and Facebook have people expressing their happiness, along with the frustrations that take away their peace at times but don’t know why. Well, as always dear tenderhearted ones, read on and see what God’s Word tells us presently about life and how to have a balanced view of it. This way you can decide for yourself on how to proceed with daily activities.

You will read further Holy Bible scriptures from Ecclesiastes that give you a panoramic or All- around view of life in these references:

Yes Fun is a Gift from God!

Ecclesiastes 2:24 – With a man there is nothing better [than] that he should eat and indeed drink and cause his soul to see good because of his hard work. This too I have seen, even I, that this is from the hand of the [true] God.

Ecclesiastes 3:12, 13-  I have come to know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good during one’s life; and also that every man should eat and indeed drink and see good for all his hard work. It is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:22- And I have seen that there is nothing better than that the man should rejoice in his works, for that is his portion; because who will bring him in to look on what is going to be after him?

The scriptures above are very clear wouldn’t you agree? And one researched reference says of Ecclesiastes 2:24; 3:12, 13, 22. “Enjoying the fruits of our labor is not wrong.”-[w06 11/1 p. Highlights From the Book of Ecclesiastes]

Being Solely Engaged in Cultural Activities

Dear readers, you will see from the highlighted scriptures below why our selected reference material states: “Cultural activities, such as architecture, gardening, and music, as well as luxurious living are “a striving after wind” because they neither make life truly meaningful nor bring lasting happiness.” God's Meaning and Me

King Solomon says in (Ecclesiastes 2:3-11) . . .. I engaged in greater works. I built houses for myself; I planted vineyards for myself. I made gardens and parks for myself, and I planted in them fruit trees of all sorts.  I made pools of water for myself, to irrigate with them the forest, springing up with trees.  I acquired menservants and maidservants, and I came to have sons of the household. Also, livestock, cattle and flocks in great quantity I came to have, more so than all those who happened to be before me in Jerusalem.  I accumulated also silver and gold for myself, and property peculiar to kings and the jurisdictional districts. I made male singers and female singers for myself and the exquisite delights of the sons of mankind, a lady, even ladies.  And I became greater and increased more than anyone that happened to be before me in Jerusalem. Moreover, my own wisdom remained mine. 10 And anything that my eyes asked for I did not keep away from them. I did not hold back my heart from any sort of rejoicing, for my heart was joyful because of all my hard work, and this came to be my portion from all my hard work. 11 And I, even I, turned toward all the works of mine that my hands had done and toward the hard work that I had worked hard to accomplish, and, look! everything was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing of advantage under the sun.

Hmm, King Solomon, who attained everything a person could want in life came to a thought provoking conclusion!

We will take a break now so that you can meditate on the scriptures shared with you today. Oh, there is much more to cover from the book of Ecclesiastes.  And more will be shared on the state of human social dealings with one another.

Since you have now read King Solomon’s expressions for yourself, what conclusions do you draw so far from this report?

Until next time, may something positive happen for you this day! – Kind regards
